“Keeping Up with the Kardashian’s” Bruce Jenner’s son Brody Jenner posted the results of his Bluefin fishing trip via Instagram photos that were pretty bloody according to the Huffington Post reports.

Brody Jenner displayed his catch on Instagram with the post including hashtags #successfulmission, #bloodydecks and #40poundbluefin, the image shows what appears to be a dead bluefin tuna lying in a pool of its own blood.

Jenner a sports fanatic appears to be an avid fisherman and was reported to have had Bluefin Tuna on his mind before he even left for the trip.

One of the controversial issues about Jenner’s fishing trip comes from the fact the Bluefin Tuna in Southern Hemisphere and in the Atlantic and Mediterranean are classified as endangered, but… the Pacific bluefin is not.

Bluefin tuna is also listed as one of the world’s expensive fish.

This year, a 489-pound tuna caught off the Japanese coast was sold at auction at Tokyo’s largest fish market for a record $1.76 million.

Brody Jenner posted a photo of what appears to be a much smaller bluefin tuna last summer, asking his followers, “Bluefin sashimi?”

The Pew Environment Group’s Amanda Nickson told Time’s Bryan Walsh earlier this year, “At least 90% of the [bluefin tuna] being caught have not yet reached reproductive age, which obviously undermines their ability to reproduce.”

Both the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch and Greenpeace’s Red List recommend consumers avoid Pacific bluefin and its more endangered cousins.

Many well known celebrities have pushed for the protection of the Bluefin Tuna.

Brody Jenner responded to the Bluefin tuna backlash posting more catch photo’s and writing:

“As somebody who eats fish on a regular basis, I prefer to catch my own meal in a legal and responsible manner to better appreciate the process of the fish getting to the plate.

“I believe that you should be able to catch/kill/process whatever you eat to remind yourself of what you’re doing. I also prefer to avoid buying tuna at market because the commercial tuna fishing fleet often catch other species of fish and marine mammals in there nets in the process. With that said… Stoked on these 2 bluefin tuna!!! Good trip.”

Do you believe it is okay to for Brody Jenner to fish for Bluefin Tuna as long as he is responsible and eats his catch, or should he be fined?
